Why We Love Plants

Why We Love Plants

In the heart of the world’s bustling lives, a growing fascination with plants is taking root. It’s a love affair that extends beyond the aesthetics, tapping into something deeper - a connection to nature that soothes the soul and transforms living spaces into sanctuaries. Join us as we unravel the layers of this plant craze, exploring the reasons why people across the globe are embracing the serenity, companionship, and symbolic growth that plants bring into their lives. Welcome to the world where greenery meets passion - the unfolding love story between people and plants 🌿✨

Serenity in Shades of Green

In the hustle of modern life, people are gravitating toward the serene allure of plants. The vibrant shades of color, the calming presence of nature in our homes - these elements provide a tranquil haven in a fast-paced world. The love for plants stems from our innate desire to create a peaceful sanctuary, fostering a sense of calm and connection with the natural world amid chaos.

Beyond Decor

Beyond their aesthetic appeal, plants offer therapeutic companionship. Caring for them becomes a ritual, a form of mindfulness that transcends the routine. The act of nurturing, from watering to pruning, provides a soothing rhythm and instills a sense of responsibility, creating a unique bond that goes beyond the confines of traditional relationships. In the quiet moments spent with our leafy friends, we discover a form of companionship that is both grounding and emotionally fulfilling.

Nature’s Palette

Plants aren’t just living decorations - they are nature’s masterpieces that bring a touch of the outdoors inside. The intricate patterns of leaves, the elegance of vines, and the varied textures create an ever-changing art gallery within our living spaces. The love for plants reflects an appreciation for the artistry that nature effortlessly weaves, turning our homes into living canvases that evolve and adapt with each passing season.

Seeds of Change

The fascination with plants goes hand in hand with their symbolic representation of growth and renewal. Witnessing a seed or cutting transform into a lush, thriving plant mirrors our own journeys of personal development. The cyclical nature of growth, dormancy, and rebirth observed in plants becomes a source for inspiration, offering a tangible reminder that change and growth are natural, beautiful aspects of life.

Ecosystems of the Heart

Ultimately, the love for plants is rooted in the desire for connection - connection to something greater than ourselves. Whether it’s the rhythmic dance of leaves in the breeze or the quiet resilience of a succulent, plants offer a connection to the cycles of nature. Through this connection, we find solace, inspiration, and a reminder that, like our leafy companions, we are part of a vast, ever-evolving ecosystem that we can nurture and be nurtured by in return.

I couldn’t agree more! I was Never a plant person. In fact I was married, raised 3 kids and during that time I never had a house plant. My mom & sister were the green thumbs and teased me because when I finally had a plant I was proud of it died & I never tried again. Fast forward 15 more years and I got the big C word ( cancer sucks). My best friend kindly sent me a nice plant gift. You know the kind that has 5 small plants in one. Well after weeks of caring for it – surprisingly it grew. So much had to call my sister to tell me what to do next it gotten so big in the pot. She laughed and said it needed separated and she would do it for me. I said NO I’m gonna give this a try. I went online. Found you guys here at BWH & other great videos on plant care and THATS ALL SHE WROTE ! My kids now call me crazy plant lady lol. I’m obsessed with caring for plants. I’m loving getting little new plants & watching them grow into huge beautiful plants. Propagating plants is a favorite & it amazes me how quickly you can grow new plants. I’ve found plants so helpful during my cancer journey it’s hard to explain but I spend more time reading about plants & plant care and my down time caring for my plants ( I now have 22 plus 10 water propagation starters). I don’t sit back and read about my cancer, or sit worrying about how awful I feel today … I think about my next plant I’ll buy, how I’ll make space for more & how I’ll plan for a small outdoor oasis this summer ! It’s been a fun, relaxing and great mental relief for me to become a house plant lover. I think my most important part of this journey is I’ve been sharing my new love of plants with my 2yr old grandson over the past year. He has learned so much, enjoys planting with me and is always willing to help care for my plants. In fact today I am watching him & he’s super excited to go to our local garden center to pick out a new plant for his playroom at Grammys house. I just ordered with you all & have a ton of favorites on my wish list. I look forward to many more great tips from your team !!
