About the Role

We’re looking for a creative, reliable, and community-minded part-time Marketing & Events Coordinator to help bring Jungle Room to life—both in-store and online. This is an ideal opportunity for a college student or early-career creative looking to gain hands-on experience in marketing, events, and retail brand-building. As our in-store programming expands, there may be opportunities to grow into a larger role.


What You’ll Do

• Help manage the Jungle Room Instagram account—posting photos, stories, and reels to highlight what’s happening in-store

• Capture real-time content using an iPhone to promote workshops, new arrivals, store updates, and community moments

• Design simple flyers and promotional graphics using Canva for in-store and digital promotions

• Support and co-host all in-store events and workshops—this includes prepping materials, greeting and checking in guests, helping facilitate activities, and ensuring the event runs smoothly

• Be a welcoming, friendly presence during events—answering questions, assisting with plant purchases, and helping guests feel at home in the shop

• Collaborate with the store manager and owner to brainstorm ideas, plan out event calendars, and bring creative marketing concepts to life

• Develop and help execute a weekly local marketing plan to drive foot traffic, promote events, and highlight featured products

• Pitch in on local outreach efforts—dropping flyers, connecting with nearby businesses, and listing events in community calendars

• Keep track of engagement, attendance, and event performance to help inform future planning

• Digitally savvy—you know social media trends, what grabs attention, and how to make content feel fun and real

• Excited to be part of a local, community-driven shop and help bring experiences to life

Skills & Experience You Have

• Experience using Canva or similar tools to create flyers and social graphics

• Confident using Instagram (especially Stories and Reels) to create engaging content

• Experience capturing and editing iPhone photo and video content

• Familiar with coordinating events—whether for school, work, or personal projects

• Able to multitask and stay organized when juggling event logistics or day-of needs

• Comfortable assisting customers in a retail or event setting
