THE BASICS
WATER
- Mini plants require more frequent watering due to their smaller pots and limited potting mix. Check the soil regularly and water as soon as the top inch feels dry to the touch, ensuring a thorough soak.
LIGHT
- These thrive best in bright, indirect light similar to their full-grown siblings. Shield them from intense, direct afternoon rays to keep the foliage safe.
HUMIDITY & TEMP
- Maintain consistent temperatures between 60-75°F for mini plants. Since they have smaller root systems and less soil to retain moisture, they may be more sensitive to temperature changes.
- Mini plants benefit from higher humidity levels. Consider grouping them with others or placing them near a humidifier to create a more favorable environment.
THE NITTY GRITTY
SOIL
- A well-draining, aerated soil is best: potting mix, perlite, orchid bark, and other chunky media are an excellent choice.
- As the plants grow, monitor their root development and repot them into slightly larger containers when they become root-bound, no more than 1-2 inches bigger at a time.
FERTILIZING
- Feed miniature plants sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Since they have smaller root systems, they are more susceptible to fertilizer burn, so it's essential to use a gentle fertilizer and dilute it properly.

PESTS
- Keep an eye out for common pests like spider mites and aphids to prevent foliage damage. Maintaining good plant hygiene, such as removing dead or decaying leaves, helps deter pests and keep your growers healthy.
