6" Calathea 'Zebrina'

Not really sure what happened but it came with 3 yellowing leaves (2 of them being fairly larger leaves) and the plant itself seems a bit stressed (as one would expect). I am aware that these plants are already temperamental without enduring a prolonged shipping process in the middle of June. So, I am hoping a little TLC can keep this plant thriving.

Understanding that, I did not remove 2 stars for the condition of the plant itself but rather the VERY LONG delay from time ordered to time received. I ordered on June 9th but the plants did not ship until the 17th and then didn’t actually leave the shipping facility until the 19th. I then did not physically receive them until the 23rd. (To note - I ordered other plants from a competitor on the same day and they were physically at my door by the 14th. The other company was also based out of Florida). I did get an email acknowledging the delay but an offer to refund the shipping, a discount/ free shipping on a future order, or maybe even complimentary expedited shipping on this order may have made this experience feel better. Overall, I would order from BWH again but I would do so with no expectation for a timely delivery.

These are so pretty, I would have thought I'd see them everywhere. But then, Calathea can be tricky. These have been dramatic in the sense that it's very easy to tell when they want water, and they perk right back up after getting a good drink. The leaves look velvety, but are not. I'm really glad I bought them. I think they are a good beginner to intermediate level plant.
