Retail Sales Associate - Jungle Room

About The Role

We're looking for a part time sales associate for our retail store, The Jungle Room by BWH Plant Co. The ideal candidate is someone who is outgoing, eager to learn, passionate about plants and values quality customer service. Must have both weekday & weekend availability.

  • Responsible for all general maintenance of plants, including watering, potting, trimming etc
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to deliver a great customer experience
  • Assist with in-store events, community initiatives, and workshops 
  • Encourage community engagement and customer retention through use of shop social media, customer satisfaction surveys, driving email capture and customer loyalty initiatives
  • Assist in executing all daily retail operations to ensure premium service and smooth store functioning
  • Leads customer interactions with plant education 
  • Stay informed and familiar with all Jungle Room products and services offered, actively pursue additional product knowledge as needed
  • Process point of sale transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Organize, set up, and display plant material in designated retail space for optimal exposure to drive sales
  • Speaks positively about the brand, about our customers, and about other team members.
  • Demonstrates initiative, teamwork and ownership in every interaction.
  • Shares feedback and ideas with management that will help improve the processes in the store.
  • Adapts to an environment that changes quickly while managing multiple tasks.
  • Provides support for all cross-functional departments.
  • Work effectively with others in a team-oriented environment and provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain a visually enticing store that is neat, clean and organized
  • Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions and maintain proper accountability on register
  • Acts as the face of the business, representing the company in a courteous and professional manner
  • Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.
  • Communicate with BWH Team on questions, concerns, and feedback from customers
  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience in a retail, hospitality, or customer service setting
  • Strong knowledgeable about a variety of plants and their care
  • Model reliability and flexibility by being able to work varied hours and days to meet the needs of the business
  • Available to work retail hours, which may include days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Basic numeracy, literacy, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Availability must be flexible and include evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Must have a High School diploma
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Schedule Requirements:
    • You must be available to work at least one weekend day per week.
    • You must be flexible to work between 4 and 8 hour shifts
    • You must be available to work during heavy traffic sales (ex Sidewalk Sales, Community Plant Swaps & more)
    • Available to work during retail black out periods and holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc
