Maranta Black Band ‘Cat’s Moustache’ is a unique prayer plant with elongated, velvety green leaves marked by a dark central band and soft silver accents. Like other Marantas, its leaves fold upward at night in a rhythmic “prayer” motion. This compact trailing or creeping grower is native to Brazil and grown in our Florida greenhouse.

    Poor baby had a rough ride getting here but hopeful its resilient.

    Arrived a bit banged up with some damaged leaves and bent stems so I added some rocks to support the stems at the base and gave it time to acclimate. I just repotted yesterday and the roots look good. Its starting to straighten some where the stems were bent over. I added better support to the stems and although they had some damage it has had some new leaf growth come in. I think with the fresh soil and some nutrient itll bounce back ok. Its such a beautiful plant with several different shades of greens on the leaves. It also has some purple on the backside of the leaves too. Its defininitely worth the trouble and one I'm excited to have.
