THE BASICS
WATER
- Anthuriums prefer consistently moist soil but they’re susceptible to root rot if overwatered. Offer a good soak as soon as the first few inches of soil are dry.
- Pro-tip: Use room-temp water to avoid shock and consider bottom watering to encourage downward root development.
LIGHT
- They prefer to be in bright, indirect sunlight and though they can tolerate lower light conditions, you may notice slowed growth.
- In flowering varieties, more sun may be required to support the blooms.
HUMIDITY & TEMP
- Originating from tropical regions, Anthuriums appreciate higher humidity. They can adapt to typical household conditions but would benefit from a humidifier to promote lush growth.

SOIL
- A well-draining, aerated soil is best: potting mix, perlite, orchid bark, and other chunky mediums are an excellent choice.
