Calathea
Calathea, also known as prayer plants, are pet-friendly houseplants known for their colorful, patterned leaves. They prefer bright, indirect light and high humidity, making them ideal for bathrooms or well-lit living spaces. The Calathea ‘Lancifolia’ (Rattlesnake Plant) is a favorite for its wavy, green leaves with deep purple undersides—and it’s a great cat-safe plant for tabletops or shelves.
Fern
Ferns are popular indoor plants that grow well in low to medium light and love humid conditions. Their soft, feathery foliage adds a lush, natural feel to any room, and they're safe for dogs that like to sniff around greenery. The Boston Fernis a classic variety that works well in hanging baskets or on plant stands out of reach from curious pets.
Hoya
Hoya plants are low-maintenance, vining houseplants with thick, waxy leaves that are less tempting for cats and dogs to nibble. Many varieties, like the Hoya Carnosa ‘Compacta’, also produce fragrant, star-shaped flowers when mature. Train them to climb or trail, and you’ll have a beautiful, pet-safe plant that keeps growing with minimal fuss.
Peperomia
Peperomia are compact, easy-care houseplants with a wide range of leaf shapes, textures, and colors. They thrive in bright, indirect light and don't need frequent watering—making them ideal for pet parents who want something low-effort but still visually fun. The Peperomia ‘Obtusifolia’, or baby rubber plant, has thick, glossy leaves and is a popular choice for cat- and dog-friendly homes.
