Ready to create a natural curtain of ivy from a hanging basket in your kitchen or on your porch? Maybe you want something that adds pops of pinks, reds, and cream colors, and that lasts year round instead of flowers that need to be replaced each season. Our selection of plant hanging baskets and supplies is your solution.
Each comes with houseplants grown in our private greenhouses in the USA to ensure quality, and include Pothos, Peperomia, Ficus, Hoya, Monstera, Philodendron, and other showstoppers. Perfect for outdoors in the summer and indoors during colder months, you’ll enjoy your new hanging basket year round!
To keep your hanging plant baskets vibrant and growing, proper sunlight, watering, nutrition, and humidity is important. The instructions change depending on having your basket inside or outside, and by the type of plants included.
Click any of the products above to find their specific instructions, or use the following as general guidance to ensure your hanging plant baskets live long and healthy lives.
Watering
Indoor hanging baskets should be watered once the top inch or two of potting mix is dried out which is roughly every 5 to 7 days.
Outdoor hanging baskets may need watered daily in the morning or afternoon for hot climates where the potting mix dries out fast, or once every other day if the climate is moderate and the mix remains moist. The way to know for sure is to dip your finger two inches into the potting mix and if there is no moisture, water your hanging basket.
Sunlight
All hanging baskets need bright but indirect sunlight so they should not be placed where the sun will reach them all day long. Roughly 6 to 8 hours of indirect or ambient sunlight should be enough during their growth seasons (most grow in spring and summer), and less during dormant periods (most go into dormancy during fall and winter).
Repotting
Repot your hanging basket plants into a larger hanging basket or into a pot for display in your collection that is roughly 2 inches larger than the current basket, and with fresh potting mix.
Make sure to identify the types of plants you have by looking at your receipt or order history here on BWH Plant Co, or have our customer service team look it up. Some require chunky and well draining materials like our Dirt Bag, while others enjoy extra moisture retention and aeration like our Coco Bag.
Nutrition
During the spring and summer months your hanging plants will likely be in their growth stages, so add nutrition like our Arber Organic Plant Food every 10 to 14 days.
